🇮🇹 Vitantonio Liuzzi

Vitantonio Liuzzi is a professional single-seater racing driver who competed across thirteen seasons from 2002 to 2015. He won the 2004 International Formula 3000 championship with Arden International and made eighty Formula 1 starts between 2005 and 2011, primarily for Toro Rosso. He also raced in Formula E, WEC, and Super GT during his career.[1]

Liuzzi took seven wins and eleven podiums across International Formula 3000, where he won the title in his second season with Arden. His Formula 1 career yielded no victories; he finished ahead of elite professionals including Nico Rosberg, FIA Platinum champion of the 2005 GP2 Series and 2016 Formula 1 World Championship, on four occasions, and Sebastian Vettel, a four-time Formula 1 world champion, three times. After leaving Formula 1 he contested endurance racing with WEC and single-seater appearances in Formula E, with his last indexed racing in WEC during 2015.[2]

In International Formula 3000 Liuzzi raced in a field mixing amateurs and semi-professionals with graded professionals. He was closely matched with Jarno Trulli, an established professional who went on to race 256 Formula 1 grands prix, and typically finished behind Mark Webber, an elite professional and 2016 WEC LMP1 champion with extensive single-seater and endurance experience across multiple series.
