🇩🇪 Stefan Aust

Stefan Aust is a professional endurance racing driver rated at 4,179, competing in a Bronze grade within the FIA's sportscar framework. He races primarily for Rinaldi Racing in multiclass and prototype championships across Europe and Asia. His primary mounts are Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars in the 24H Series and LMP3 prototypes in the Le Mans Cup, competing in fields that blend amateur, semi-professional and graded-professional entrants.[1]

Aust has raced sixteen seasons from 2010 to the present, accumulating 85 starts across seven series. His record centres on the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, where he has contested 36 races for Trinity Solutions Gmbh and taken one win and six podiums since 2010. In the 24H Series he has been competitive in shared-car racing, adding two wins and three podiums from 15 starts in Porsche Cup machinery. More recently he joined Rinaldi Racing for the Le Mans Cup, where he has taken four podiums from fourteen starts in LMP3 prototypes, and the Road to Le Mans, where he has secured one win and three podiums across five races. He has also contested eight editions of the Nürburgring 24 Hours and made his sole GT World Challenge Europe appearance in 2022. His debut in the Asian Le Mans Series came in 2026.[2]

His regular opponents in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, where the bulk of his racing sits, are Klaus Abbelen and Frank Stippler, both endurance specialists with whom he is closely matched. Abbelen, an entry-level professional, won the 2014 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie SP 9 title; Stippler, a professional and FIA Platinum-graded driver, took the 2021 SP 9 Pro crown. Aust has finished ahead of substantially stronger drivers at isolated moments: Maro Engel, the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe champion and an established professional, and Jake Dennis, the 2023 Formula E champion, though these remain single instances against drivers whose careers operate at a different scale.
