🇧🇷 Ricardo Sperafico

Ricardo Sperafico is a retired Brazilian racing driver who spent his career in single-seater championships. He raced in International Formula 3000 from 2001 to 2003, primarily for Coloni Motorsport, and returned to competition in 2016 with eight starts in the Stock Car Pro Series, Brazil's national stock car championship.[1]

Across 42 career starts Sperafico took three wins and twelve podiums. His International Formula 3000 campaign yielded all three victories and eleven of the twelve podiums over 34 starts between 2001 and 2003. His return to racing came more than a decade later in the Stock Car Pro Series, where he started eight times across 2016 and 2018, finishing 29th in the 2018 championship standings.[2]

In International Formula 3000, Sperafico raced regularly against Giorgio Pantano and Patrick Friesacher, both of whom went on to established professional careers; the three were closely matched across their meetings. Pantano later won the GP2 Series in 2008 and raced in Formula 1, while Friesacher also reached Formula 1 and completed 41 starts in International Formula 3000. Sperafico also finished ahead of Thed Bjork, who became the 2017 World Touring Car champion. The Petrobras Junior Team, which fielded him for 24 of his 34 International Formula 3000 starts, counted Sperafico as its strongest driver across all its entries in the index.
