Jean Philippe Belloc was a professional endurance racing driver, rated 4,723 on the Elo scale. He raced for PSI Motorsport in the FIA GT Championship from 1999 to 2006, taking seven wins and sixteen podiums across thirty-two starts; he also drove for Larbre Competition in the WEC from 2012 to 2016 and made a final appearance in the 24H Series in 2019 for Porsche Lorient Racing. He held an FIA Silver grade, a classification below the two full-professional grades but above amateur status in endurance and GT racing.[1]
Belloc's career was built on his record in the FIA GT Championship, where he established himself as a regular front-runner and won the 2001 title with Larbre Competition Chereau. In International Formula 3000 between 1995 and 1997, he competed in a field mixing amateurs and professionals but recorded only one podium finish across twenty-two starts, racing for Apomatox. His later years saw him return to endurance racing; he took eight World Endurance Championship starts between 2012 and 2016, finishing eighteenth in the 2016 championship standings, and recorded one more victory in a 24H Series race in 2019.[2]
In the FIA GT Championship, Belloc raced against a field that included established professionals and champions. He usually finished ahead of Christian Pescatori, a fellow GT regular with sixty starts in the series, and proved closely matched with Christian Ried, a multiple WEC LMGTE Am champion and one of the stronger endurance drivers of his generation. Belloc also finished ahead of Allan McNish and Marc Gene, both established professionals with Formula 1 experience and considerably greater career reach, though these victories came as isolated results rather than a sustained pattern.
