Alessandro Piccolo is an Italian established professional who raced in single-seater and endurance championships in the early 2000s. He made three starts in International Formula 3000 for BCN F3000 in 2003, then took one outing in the FIA GT Championship in 2004, finishing 35th in the season standings in shared-car racing.[1]
His record across both series comprised four starts against fields that ranged from semi-professionals to graded drivers. In Formula 3000 he regularly finished behind Giorgio Pantano, a GP2 champion who would go on to race in Formula 1, and Tony Schmidt, an established professional with thirty Formula 3000 starts. Piccolo beat Nicolas Kiesa, who had raced five times in Formula 1, once in Formula 3000, and finished ahead of Bert Longin, a Bronze-graded driver with eighty FIA GT Championship starts, in his single GT outing. His team, BCN F3000, fielded seven drivers across the index with no race wins.[2]
