🇬🇧 Robert Wheldon

Robert Wheldon is a professional endurance racing driver, FIA Silver-graded, who raced in multiclass championships across two seasons. He competed in the British GT Championship in a GT4 car for Century Motorsport and in the European Le Mans Series in an LMP3 prototype for United Autosports, taking his only win in the former series in 2020.[1]

His indexed record spans seven starts across both championships. He took five podiums from those starts, concentrated heavily in the 2021 European Le Mans Series where he finished third in the championship standings with four podium finishes from six rounds. His single win came in his sole British GT Championship appearance.[2]

In the European Le Mans Series, Wheldon raced regularly against Malthe Jakobsen, an FIA Gold-graded established professional and multiple champion of that series, and typically finished ahead of him. He was closely matched with Ugo De Wilde, another FIA Silver-graded professional with extensive single-seater and GT racing behind him. He also beat Mattia Drudi, an FIA Platinum-graded established professional with an 80-race GT World Challenge Europe record, on at least one occasion.
