🇫🇮 Rory Penttinen

Rory Penttinen is a professional endurance racing driver, FIA Silver graded, who raced shared-cockpit prototypes and GT machinery across seven seasons from 2007 to 2022. He competed primarily in the European Le Mans Series and Le Mans Cup for Graff Racing, alongside occasional appearances in the 24H Series, GT World Challenge Europe, and Road to Le Mans. His racing was concentrated in the multiclass prototype and GT championships that feed the Le Mans ecosystem.[1]

Penttinen took nine podiums across 27 starts, including two wins. His first came in the 24H Series in 2017–2019, a multiclass endurance grid mixing amateurs with graded professionals. His second win arrived in Road to Le Mans in 2020–2021, a support series to Le Mans itself; he took two podiums in four starts there. In the Le Mans Cup, where he raced LMP3 prototypes for Graff, he finished on the podium three times in five starts. His European Le Mans Series campaign yielded one podium in six starts in the LMP3 class.[2]

The fields Penttinen raced in regularly included established professionals. He finished behind Laurents Hörr, a multiple Le Mans Cup champion and FIA Gold graded driver, in their shared European Le Mans Series and Le Mans Cup appearances. He also raced GT World Challenge Europe against Charles Weerts, the 2021 series champion, and finished ahead of him twice. His four starts in GT World Challenge Europe placed him among a field running from amateur entrants up to graded professionals; he took no finishes to score in that series. Penttinen retired from racing after 2021.
