Charles Weerts is a professional racing driver competing in international GT racing. FIA Platinum-graded, he races primarily for Team WRT in the GT World Challenge Europe, where he drives BMW M GT3 machinery. His record across 157 starts spans single-class formula racing early in his career through to multiclass endurance championships and shared-car GT racing at the highest level.[1]
Weerts has been a dominant force in GT World Challenge Europe since 2019, winning four titles in the series with Team WRT: 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2025. He has accumulated 94 starts in that championship with 20 wins and 49 podiums, establishing himself as one of the most consistent performers in the field. His record in endurance racing includes victories in both the Nürburgring 24 Hours and the 24H Series, as well as podium finishes in the Bathurst 12 Hour. He has also raced in the ADAC GT Masters and ADAC Formula 4 earlier in his career, winning once in each.[2]
Weerts operates in a field that includes multiple established professionals. He regularly races against Christopher Haase, an FIA Platinum driver with extensive experience across GT and endurance series, and typically finishes ahead of him. He is closely matched with Maro Engel, the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe champion and another Platinum-graded professional with significant experience in DTM and international GT racing. Beyond this peer group, Weerts has finished ahead of drivers of considerably higher standing, including Liam Lawson, an elite professional with Formula 1 experience, on eight occasions, and Max Verstappen twice during shared-car endurance races.
