🇯🇵 Mitsunori Takaboshi

Mitsunori Takaboshi is an elite professional racing driver competing in Super GT, where he drives Nissan GT300 machinery for NISMO. FIA Gold-graded, he has raced since 2014 and currently competes in the ongoing 2026 Super GT season. His primary career has been built in the Japanese endurance championship across a twelve-year span, supplemented by single-seater campaigns in Super Formula and a pair of Formula 3 Macau starts in 2014.[1]

Takaboshi has taken 7 wins and 16 podiums across 104 starts. In Super GT, where he concentrates his efforts, he has 86 starts yielding 7 wins and 15 podiums for NISMO, the manufacturer he has driven for throughout his indexed career. His best finish came as a member of NISMO's title-winning GT300 team in 2015. More recently, he has added two podiums from four completed rounds in 2026. He has also contested 16 Super Formula rounds between 2020 and 2025 for Itochu Enex Wecars Team Impul without reaching the podium in that single-seater series.[2]

Takaboshi shares the Super GT grid with several drivers of considerably higher standing. Kenta Yamashita, the 2024 Super GT GT500 champion and an established professional, has been a regular rival; Takaboshi typically finishes behind him. Sho Tsuboi, a five-time Super GT and Super Formula champion and fellow elite professional, has appeared even more frequently in his races and has consistently outpaced him. Takaboshi has beaten both drivers at various points across their shared seasons, including Tsuboi at least twenty times, demonstrating occasional competitiveness against the grid's strongest, though the consistent gap in their head-to-head records reflects his standing as a professional in a series dominated by champions.
