🇩🇪 Martin Tomczyk

Martin Tomczyk is an established professional endurance racing driver rated Platinum by the FIA, competing in multiclass and single-class championships across Europe and North America. His indexed career ran from 2013 to 2019, spanning nine seasons and 36 starts in shared-car endurance racing. He raced primarily for BMW Team RLL in the IMSA WeatherTech series, where he took his sole win among four podiums across eleven starts, and competed in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, World Endurance Championship, Nürburgring 24 Hours and GT World Challenge Europe.[1]

His strongest results came in IMSA WeatherTech, where he scored four podiums including one win from eleven starts with BMW Team RLL. In WEC he took a single podium across eight starts, and in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and the Nürburgring 24 Hours he accumulated three and two podiums respectively. His final indexed season was 2019 in WEC, where he finished tenth in the championship standings with one podium from three rounds raced.[2]

Tomczyk raced consistently against established professionals throughout his career. Patrick Pilet and Alexander Sims, both Platinum-graded drivers with extensive IMSA and WEC experience, were regular opponents and matched him closely. He finished ahead of António Félix da Costa, a Formula E and WEC champion, twice, and beat Laurens Vanthoor, a three-time IMSA WeatherTech and WEC champion, five times across their meetings. His decade-long association with BMW ended in 2021, after which he took a management role at ABT Sportsline.
