Marcus Maier is a competitive amateur who raced in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a national multiclass endurance championship in which drivers share cars across multiple classes and machinery types. He drove a BMW one-make cup car in the Cup 5 class for Car #687 in 2014, his only indexed season.[1]
Maier made a single start in the series that year and finished 18th in the championship standings. His one outing put him ahead of two drivers who would go on to establish longer careers in the series; Michael Fischer later raced the 24H Series and won its GT4 championship in 2019, and Heiko Eichenberg became a multiple champion of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, winning the Cup 5 class in 2020 and taking titles in other classes in 2023 and 2025.[2]
