🇬🇧 Mark Hutchison

Mark Hutchison is a club-level driver whose career on record comprises a single start at the 2021 SCCA Runoffs. His Racer Rating of 1,340 places him in the developing category, the entry level of competitive racing where drivers are consistently at the back of club fields or have too few races to have moved beyond the baseline. With only one classified start across all series, meaningful assessment of his capabilities is limited; he finished 17th in that outing.[1]

That single appearance at the Runoffs placed Hutchison against a mixed field that included established professionals and semi-professionals. He finished ahead of Billy Johnson, an FIA Gold graded driver and one-time champion rated 3,441, as well as Chris Scharnow, Trent Walko, and Mark Defer. While beating drivers of Johnson's calibre is noteworthy on any single occasion, a single result cannot establish a pattern, and the circumstances of that race, grid position, incident, attrition, matter more than the finishing order alone. Hutchison has since retired from racing.[2]
