Michael Branning was a competitive amateur racer in PCA Club Racing, a multiclass Porsche championship run across amateur and professional grades in the United States. He raced solo in the E, F and SP3 classes over nine seasons from 2004 to 2013 and recorded 51 starts, 12 wins and 29 podiums.[1]
Branning finished in the top ten of the championship standings twice, placing seventh in 2013, his final season, which yielded two wins and five podiums from five rounds. His 12 victories and consistent podium rate of better than half his starts mark him as a front-runner within his class field. He beat entry-level professional Boston Reid twice and semi-professional Angus Rogers, who had significant experience across PCA Club Racing and IMSA sportscar racing, three times. Among his regular rivals, he usually finished ahead of Dan Morris and held a closely matched record against Robert B Love, both developing drivers racing the same series.[2]
