🏳️ Mike Rard

Mike Rard was a developing-level driver who raced in NASA, a national multiclass series in the USA. He drove 5/8-scale Legends coupes with motorcycle engines for Legends and other teams across nine seasons of competition from 2004 to 2013.[1]

Rard made 18 starts over five indexed seasons, taking six wins and nine podiums. He finished 13th in the NASA championship standings in his final season of 2013, his most active year with five rounds raced. His record was concentrated in the Legends class and its Masters and Semi-Pro variants, where he was a regular competitor.[2]

The field he raced in mixed amateurs with semi-professional and professional drivers. Rard typically finished behind Bobby Christensen, a competitive amateur who was his most frequent rival with 57 NASA starts, but ahead of Gary Scheuerell, another developing-level driver in the series. He finished ahead of Alex Kennedy and Mike Bliss, both of whom came to NASA with significantly more experience; Kennedy had raced NASCAR Xfinity, and Bliss brought a professional career in Xfinity and the Truck series to his NASA rounds. Legends, his primary team, had fielded 54 drivers across its racing program and counted an entry-level professional among its strongest competitors.
