Skip Brown was a club-level driver who raced in NASA, a national multiclass championship mixing amateur and professional competitors across fifteen classes. He drove 5/8-scale Legends coupes with motorcycle engines in the Legends and Legends Masters classes for Legends and other teams between 2003 and 2011.[1]
Brown took 19 wins and 33 podiums across 46 starts over eight seasons. He won NASA championships in 2005 and 2006 in his class, and his final recorded season in 2011 saw him finish fourteenth in the points standings across two rounds.[2]
In the regular field of developing and semi-professional drivers Brown typically raced against, he finished ahead of Steve Kamisky and Jim Akard more often than not. He also beat entry-level professionals including Mike Bliss, a driver with 359 NASCAR Xfinity starts, on four occasions, and Scott Sheldon, who started in both NASA and ARCA Menards Series, the same number of times.
