Scott Sheldon is a retired entry-level professional racing driver who spent the bulk of his career in NASA's multiclass endurance series, piloting Legends-class 5/8-scale coupes with motorcycle engines. He raced for a small single-car operation across 33 starts between 2003 and 2018, with a brief two-year spell in the ARCA Menards Series on ovals in 2014 and 2015.[1]
Sheldon took six wins and eleven podiums across his indexed career. His most active period came in NASA, where he accumulated thirty starts over fifteen seasons and finished fifth in the championship standings in his final season of 2018, when he took a win and two podiums across two rounds. His three ARCA starts came in 2014 and 2015, all on oval tracks. He was closely matched against regular NASA opponents including Butch Summers and George Sheldon, Jr., both developing drivers with significant tenure in the series.[2]
His best results came against higher-calibre drivers who passed through NASA. He finished ahead of Daniel Hemric, an established professional and 2021 NASCAR Xfinity champion with extensive experience across NASCAR's national series, and Austin Hill, an established professional with over three hundred NASCAR starts across Xfinity, Truck and Cup Series competition. These instances were isolated moments rather than patterns in Sheldon's record, which otherwise remained within the developing and entry-level professional field that makes up the broader NASA grid.
