Miles Maroney is a competitive amateur, a racing level described by his Racer Rating of 2,539; this places him at the front of club racing and regional competition, quick enough to race against professionals but typically in entry-level pro-am fields or one-make classes rather than among full-time professionals.[1]
Maroney's documented racing career spans two seasons, 2008 to 2009, with two starts recorded at the SKUSA SuperNationals, a karting event. He did not finish on a podium in either appearance. His average finishing position across classified starts was P22.5, placing him in the lower half of the fields he entered. Despite the limited record, Maroney showed flashes of competitive speed against stronger drivers; he finished ahead of Dan Wheldon (then rated 5,848, an elite professional), Daniel Morad (FIA Gold, professional level), and Buddy Rice (FIA Gold, professional level) on single occasions, the kind of isolated result that shows promise in early racing rather than a pattern of consistent outperformance.
Maroney is now retired from racing. No further competitive activity has been recorded since the 2009 SuperNationals.
