🇬🇧 Robert Gray

Robert Gray is a club-level driver, with a rating of 1,413, racing solo open-wheel cars in SCCA competition and sharing a GT3 car in international endurance racing. In the SCCA ladder he runs in the F5 and F6 classes, the latter for open-wheel cars with 600cc motorcycle or snowmobile engines, mainly for MRA Motorsport / 111 Racing, a small operation whose strongest driver on record, Grant Donaldson, rates as a competitive amateur. At the Bathurst 12 Hour, a multiclass endurance race sharing the track across six classes and drawing entries from three countries, he has driven for Volante Rosso Motorsport in the SIL class, which runs GT3 cars, and in the Invitational class.[1]

Gray's record runs from 2021 to 2026 across four series. In the SCCA Majors he has taken two podiums from five starts, and he has also started three times in the SCCA Runoffs and twice in the SCCA Regionals, all in F5 or F6 machinery. His most notable result came at the Bathurst 12 Hour, where he took a win for Volante Rosso Motorsport in one of two starts there.[2]

His regular company in SCCA racing includes Keith Joslyn and David Lapham, both with far heavier mileage in SCCA Majors, Regionals and Runoffs than Gray himself; he usually finishes behind both. He has beaten Joslyn twice in their meetings and has also finished ahead of James Weida, another club-level driver with a long run of SCCA Majors and Runoffs starts.
