Robert Sanders is a developing driver racing in the Masters class of the Lucas Oil Formula Car Race Series, a national solo formula car championship in the United States. He has been active since 2024, driving for his own effort across three seasons on record.[1]
Sanders has taken one win and ten podiums from nineteen starts. In the 2024 and 2025 seasons he accumulated nine podiums across thirteen starts. The 2026 season is still in progress; he currently sits sixth in the championship standings with two podiums from six rounds raced so far. He regularly finishes ahead of Alex Hawley, another developing driver in the same series, while Donnie Steele, the two-time Masters champion and a significantly more experienced competitor, usually beats him in head-to-head racing.[2]
Sanders has beaten Quentin Wahl and Dom Bastien twice each; both are club-level drivers with multiple series experience. His record places him in a competitive field of peers and established amateurs rather than amongst the series' dominant drivers, a position he is still building on in the current season.
