Ross Cheever is a retired American race driver who competed in Formula 3 Macau during the mid-1980s. His recorded career spans just two starts across the 1985 to 1987 seasons, both in the Macau event driving for Funaki Racing. Though his on-record competition was minimal, Cheever's single-seater activity took place in a competitive field; he finished ahead of several drivers of considerably stronger pedigree, including future Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill, two-time Formula 1 race winner Johnny Herbert, and FIA Bronze-graded professional Christian Danner, though each of these results represents a one-off encounter rather than a sustained pattern.[1]

The biographical record indicates Cheever pursued a considerably more substantial career in Japanese motorsport beyond what appears in this database's single-seater records, winning the Japanese Formula Three championship in 1987 and competing in the Japanese Formula 3000 Championship for eight years. He is the younger brother of Eddie Cheever, who won the Indianapolis 500 and competed in Formula 1. Cheever has since retired from professional racing.[2]
