Steve Murphy is a developing driver who raced in NASA's national multiclass championship during 2010 and 2011, piloting near-stock and spec Mazda MX-5 Miatas in the Showroom Spec Miata and Spec Miata classes. His indexed record spans six starts across two seasons before his retirement from the sport.[1]
Murphy finished 15th in the 2011 NASA championship standings after competing in four of the season's rounds. Over his two seasons of racing, he typically finished behind his regular opponents Timmy Tyrrell and Scott Krzastek, both of whom had significantly more NASA experience; he did however finish ahead of semi-professional Ryan Heishman once and club-level driver Joel Bell once across his career.[2]
