Thomas Schönfeld is a competitive amateur racing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a multiclass endurance championship where front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive turbocharged production cars race shared between two or more drivers per entry. He races for MSC Dhünn e.V., competing across the VT2 Front and VT2 Front 4WD classes since 2023.[1]

Across four indexed seasons, Schönfeld has taken 2 wins and 11 podiums from 25 starts. In the 2026 season, still in progress, he sits fourth in the championship standings with three podiums from eight rounds raced so far.[2]

He races in a field that spans amateur and semi-professional entrants through to graded professionals in shared-car competition. Among his regular opponents are Tobias Jung, the 2025 series champion in the VT2 Front 4WD class, against whom Schönfeld usually finishes behind, and Michael Eichhorn, a competitive amateur with whom he is closely matched. He has finished ahead of professional drivers Mex Jansen, graded FIA Silver in GT World Challenge Europe and European Le Mans Series competition, and Kobe Pauwels, also FIA Silver and a competitor in TCR World Tour and Asian Le Mans Series racing, though in single instances in each case.
