William Clawson is a developing amateur who raced in national solo open-wheel and spec car championships. He competed in NASA's Spec Miata class, driving a Mazda MX-5 Miata in spec trim, and in SCCA Regionals' SM class, also in a spec Miata.[1]
Clawson made three starts across two seasons between 2013 and 2022. He raced twice for Maxda Miata in NASA in 2013, then returned to competition nine years later with a single start in SCCA Regionals in 2022, where he finished 98th in the championship standings.[2]
He raced in fields that mixed amateur and semi-professional drivers with graded professionals. Among the drivers he finished ahead of were Logan Cozzie and Zack Barfield, both club-level racers with experience across SCCA Regionals and SCCA Majors.
