Alex Popow Jr. is an entry-level professional competing in solo open-wheel racing. He races in the US Formula 4 Championship for MLT Motorsports, a competitive team in the series that has fielded established drivers and produced multiple race winners. His racing began in 2024 and continues into 2025.[1]

In his first indexed season in 2024, Popow took six wins and fourteen podiums across eighteen starts in US F4. The 2025 campaign saw him finish third in the championship standings after fifteen rounds, with four wins and twelve podiums. He has been among the stronger finishers in a mixed field that includes amateur and semi-professional drivers alongside graded professionals, regularly ahead of entry-level competitors Kekai Hauanio and Demitri Nolan in their head-to-head meetings.[2]

His results place him in company with drivers at his own level and stronger. He has beaten Cooper Shipman, the 2025 US F4 champion, three times, and Nicolas Stati, an FIA Silver-graded driver with experience in Indy NXT, on the same number of occasions. These finishes against established opposition in a field mixing experience levels show Popow running near the front of his series in the rounds raced.
