Bassen competed in BMW CCA Club Racing, the entry level of club motorsport, with a Racer Rating of 1,034; this is a developing driver, consistent with very limited racing in amateur club fields. The driver made two starts across the 2007 and 2008 seasons, winning once and taking one podium finish. In the driver's final appearance, a 2008 club race, Bassen finished fortieth.[1]

Of the four instances when Bassen finished ahead of rivals on record, one came against John Dimoff, who would go on to win the 2008 BMW CCA Club Racing title; another came against Allan Lewis, a multi-time club champion in the same series.
