Camilo Echevarría was a semi-professional racing driver from Argentina who competed in single-seater touring car championships across his native country and internationally. He raced for Chevrolet in the domestic TC Pista and Turismo Carretera series from 2010 onwards, and made a brief international appearance with Liqui Moly Team Engstler in the World Touring Car Championship.[1]
Over 12 seasons from 2010 to 2023, Echevarría amassed 136 starts across four series, winning nine races and taking 24 podiums. His early career in TC Pista yielded the bulk of his success; between 2010 and 2014 he scored eight wins and 18 podiums in 72 starts in that championship. TC Mouras, where he raced in 2013 and 2014, brought one win and six podiums in eight starts. His move to the national Turismo Carretera series in 2015 proved less fruitful, with 54 starts over nine seasons producing no podium finishes. A two-round World Touring Car Championship campaign in 2014 resulted in 21st place in the championship standings.[2]
Echevarría's record in Turismo Carretera placed him among a field that ranged from semi-professionals to graded professionals and multiple champions, including three-time Turismo Carretera champion Agustin Canapino and one-time champion Franco Vivian, whom he beat on multiple occasions. In the same series he was closely matched with entry-level professional Santiago Mangoni and semi-professional Nicolás González, both regular rivals. His strongest results came in the smaller TC Pista field, where he was one of the more consistent podium finishers.
