David Jurca is a competitive amateur driver, rated 2,982, operating at the level of club and regional racing where real competition exists but outside the ranks of full professionals. His record spans three seasons from 2006 to 2008, with three starts in the SKUSA SuperNationals, a field that included drivers of considerably stronger standing. Jurca finished an average of 13th across his classified appearances.[1]

The calibre of his opponents underscores the competitive gulf he faced. He shared races with several semi-professional and professional drivers including Ron White (rated 3,814, a professional-level driver) and Gary Carlton (3,529), finishing ahead of White on two occasions but trailing Carlton consistently across their three meetings. More notably, Jurca managed single finishes ahead of much stronger professionals: Norman Nato, a Gold-graded driver rated 6,011 who operates at the elite professional level; Phil Giebler, a Silver-graded driver at 5,139; and Danilo Dirani, another Silver-graded professional at 4,669. These were isolated results against substantially superior drivers rather than patterns of competitive advantage.

Jurca retired from racing in 2008 and has not returned to competition. His career represents a brief competitive amateur effort against fields that regularly included drivers several ratings tiers above his level.
