Derrick Moennick is a developing driver who raced solo open-wheel cars in the Formula Vee class of SCCA national and regional championships from 2022 to 2024. He competed for three seasons across SCCA Majors, SCCA Regionals and the SCCA Runoffs, a multiclass format in which up to 25 classes share the track in a single race and fields run from amateurs through to graded professionals.[1]
Moennick took one win across 13 starts in SCCA Majors and added six podiums in that series, with a seventh podium from a single SCCA Regionals start. He finished ahead of competitive amateur Quinn Posner once in their head-to-head meetings and beat entry-level professional Braydon Arthur, an FIA Silver driver with significant experience in GT4 America and TC America, on one occasion. His typical pattern was to finish behind Posner, a more regular and faster opponent in the same class.[2]
