Simon Hughes is a club-level driver racing in national solo sprint championships in the United States. He competes primarily in SVRA, a multiclass series, where he drives a Group 1 3 4 open-wheel car, and has made six starts in SCCA Majors, also multiclass, in the FV class Volkswagen-based Formula Vee. He is active across both series.[1]

Hughes has raced for three seasons from 2024 onwards, with 19 starts and two podiums to date. His record in SVRA spans two years and 13 starts, yielding two podiums; the 2026 season is still in progress with three rounds completed so far and one podium. His SCCA Majors campaign consists of six starts in 2026 with no finishes in the money.[2]

Among his regular opponents, Hughes typically finishes ahead of Elliott O Barron, a developing driver with 14 SVRA starts, and runs closely matched with Hunter Barron, another club-level driver with 10 SVRA starts. His strongest result on record is a finish ahead of Steve Whitston, a competitive amateur and two-time SCCA Majors champion who has made 73 starts in that series.
