Donato Forte was a competitive amateur racer in NASA's multiclass championship, where he drove a Mazda RX-7 in production-based and Spec RX-7 classes across nine seasons from 2005 to 2018. He scored 16 wins and 40 podiums from 49 starts, claiming three NASA titles with the marque.[1]

His most consistent performance came in 2018, when he won one race and took two podiums across three rounds to finish second in the championship standings. Throughout his career he typically finished ahead of regular NASA opponents Travis Satterfield and Mark Kim, both developing drivers with extensive experience in the series. He also beat Cale Phillips, an entry-level professional who has raced NASA and competed in Trans-Am TA2, though their meetings were limited.[2]

The NASA field mixes amateurs with professionals across fifteen classes; Forte competed most regularly in a field that included developing and club-level drivers alongside semi-professional racers such as Marcelo Vine. He held his own consistently against the regular field in his class but remained in the middle order of the overall championship.
