Paul Nilles competed in American Endurance Racing between 2015 and 2017, accumulating eight starts across two seasons. He scored one podium finish and never won a race. His average finishing position across classified results was 6.4, placing him in a competitive amateur field; his Racer Rating of 902 reflects sustained activity at club level.[1]
Nilles raced primarily against semi-professional and competitive amateur drivers. His head-to-head record against his most frequent rivals was mixed; he finished ahead of Alex Rubenstein, a multiple American Endurance Racing Class 4 champion, in four of six shared races, but trailed Van Svenson and Aj Ferragonio more often than he beat them. He occasionally encountered stronger drivers; he finished ahead of Tommy Byrne, an established professional, once, and beat Aristotle Balogh, a Bronze-graded sportscar driver, three times across their meetings. These isolated results reflect the variation typical of endurance racing fields rather than a sustained pattern of competitive advantage.
