Eric Cruz is a developing driver racing in SCCA national formula car competition. He competes in the FE2 class, which runs spec Mazda-powered Formula Enterprises, across SCCA Majors, SCCA Regionals and the SCCA Runoffs; these are multiclass championships mixing amateur and semi-professional entrants with graded professionals on the same grid.[1]
Over seven seasons from 2020 to 2026, Cruz has made 57 starts across these three championships. He has won five races and taken fourteen podiums, the bulk of his success coming in SCCA Regionals where he has five wins and thirteen podiums from nineteen starts. His record in SCCA Majors is considerably different: thirty-five starts have yielded a single podium, placing him well back in a field that includes established competitors and champions. He made three starts at the SCCA Runoffs, the sport's national championship event, across 2020 to 2022.[2]
Against the regular professionals and semi-professionals he races most often, Cruz typically finishes behind them. He has beaten the 2022 SCCA Majors SRF3 champion Caleb Shrader once across their meetings in SCCA Majors, and the 2025 SCCA Majors FE2 champion Eric Wisniewski once as well; both are isolated results in a record otherwise shaped by competition with more established drivers in the class.
