Greg Gomolka competed in NASA racing from 2015 to 2018, running 20 starts in Spec E30 machinery without recording a win or podium finish. His average finishing position was tenth, and his most recent activity came in 2018 when he failed to score in eight rounds. He is now retired.[1]

Gomolka's rating of 689 places him in the developing category, meaning his record showed insufficient consistency or strength to establish him as a competitive amateur. His head-to-head record against the field he raced in reveals the challenge he faced. Against Andrew Clark, who became the 2021 NASA Spec E30 champion and a semi-professional competitor, Gomolka finished ahead on three occasions but behind him sixteen times across nineteen shared races. He showed a similarly lopsided deficit against Sean Aron, another semi-professional, finishing ahead twice but behind seventeen times. Against every regular rival in his record, Gomolka either lost significantly or, in the case of Bob Michaels, a developing driver at his own level, managed a narrow win rate of six to eight. His best isolated results came against stronger drivers: he beat Aristotle Balogh, an FIA Bronze graded amateur, and Charles Buzzetti, a 2024 NASA 944 Spec champion, once each. These instances were exceptional rather than patterns within his career. Gomolka's four-year tenure in Spec E30 racing never produced the consistency needed to establish himself even at club level, and he has not raced since 2018.
