J.J. Fischer holds a Racer Rating of 2,749, placing him in the competitive amateur band; this level describes the front of club racing and entry-level professional-amateur competition, where drivers are quick and typically race against some professional opposition but lack the consistency or machinery to compete regularly at the sharp end. Fischer's racing career on record consisted of a single season in 2002, with one start in the Star Mazda Championship; he finished thirty-fourth in that outing and did not score points or podium finishes.[1]

The single race Fischer contested placed him in a field that included several drivers substantially stronger than his rating suggests. He finished ahead of Justin Pruskowski and Joe Pruskowski, both professional-level competitors, as well as Pierre Ehret, an FIA Bronze-graded sportscar driver, and John Olsen, another professional competitor.
