Jake Preston is a club-level driver whose recorded racing career consists of a single start in the 2013 SKUSA SuperNationals, where he finished seventh in his only appearance. His Racer Rating of 2,055 places him in the competitive amateur band, describing a driver capable of strong results in club and regional racing but without the consistency or depth of racing needed to establish a professional career.[1]

Preston's single race yielded results against several drivers of considerably higher calibre. He finished ahead of David Malukas, a driver now rated in the elite professional tier; Sting Ray Robb, a Gold-graded driver and 2020 Indy Pro 2000 Champion; Christian Brooks, a FIA Silver professional; and Kurt Kostecki, also Silver-graded. These finishes represent isolated success at a higher level of competition rather than a sustained pattern, but they indicate Preston was capable of competitive single-seater racing at the moment of his only recorded outing.

Preston retired after 2013 and has not returned to single-seater racing on record. He has since pursued motocross competition, with entries noted in British motocross championships and the Indian Supercross Racing League in subsequent years.
