Jason McCarthy is a Bronze-graded amateur competitor in international and national multiclass endurance and sprint racing. He races primarily in Ferrari Challenge, driving a Ferrari 488 or 296 Challenge in the P class for Wide World Ferrari; he also competes occasionally in GT America in a GT3 car and previously raced in PCA Club Racing. His Racer Rating of 3,213 places him among entry-level professional and competitive amateur drivers; he races in fields mixing amateurs with graded professionals.[1]
McCarthy has started 43 times across three series since 2017. In Ferrari Challenge, where he has accumulated 34 starts across four seasons from 2022 to 2025, he has taken two wins and 15 podiums. His sole PCA Club Racing campaign in 2017 and 2018 yielded one podium from seven starts and a seventh-place finish in the season standings. He made his GT America debut in 2026 with one podium from two starts in the SRO3 class.[2]
In Ferrari Challenge, McCarthy runs closely with established opponents. He has finished ahead of Matt Kurzejewski, the 2023 Ferrari Challenge P champion and 2024 Le Mans Cup GT3 champion, on eight occasions, and has beaten Jeremy Clarke, an established professional who has raced in IMSA WeatherTech and Asian Le Mans, seven times. He is closely matched in regular competition with both Kurzejewski and Roberto Perrina, a Bronze-graded professional who has raced extensively in Ferrari Challenge and SCCA Majors. His two Ferrari Challenge wins came at Daytona in April 2025 and Watkins Glen in July 2024.
