Jim Schenck is a club-level driver who raced in NASA, a national multiclass championship mixing amateur and professional entrants. He drove a Factory Five Cobra-replica roadster in the Factory Five Challenge class, competing for Factory Five Challenge Car across seven seasons from 2006 to 2012.[1]
Schenck started 19 times in NASA, taking two wins and twelve podiums. His best season came in 2012, when he scored podiums in both rounds he entered and finished seventh in the championship standings. His record places him among the most successful drivers Factory Five Challenge Car fielded during his time with the team, alongside whom five drivers competed across 11 of his starts.[2]
Schenck spent his career in a field of developing and amateur drivers. He was closely matched with John George and Carl W Thompson III, both developing-level regulars in the same class, and recorded individual wins over semi-professional Scott McKay and competitive amateur Brian Cates, each in single meetings.
