Nash Lawson was a club-level driver racing in national multiclass championships in the United States. He drove a Mazda MX-5 Miata in Spec Miata class for NASA across six seasons from 2009 to 2014, then returned to single-seater racing with four starts in SCCA Majors Spec Miata in 2021.[1]
Across 51 starts Lawson took eight wins and fourteen podiums. The bulk of his record came in NASA, where he won eight times and finished on the podium in fourteen races out of 47 starts. His final season was a brief campaign in SCCA Majors in 2021, which yielded four starts and a fifty-second place finish in the championship standings.[2]
Lawson raced consistently against drivers at his own level, closely matched with Ted Worrell and Michael Lesmerises, both developing drivers with substantial NASA experience. He finished ahead of Matthew Payne, an established professional and FIA Gold driver who had raced the European Le Mans Series and Supercars, twice in their meetings, and beat John Shoffner, a professional with Bronze grading, once.
