Joe Guinta raced in PCA Club Racing, a multiclass championship mixing amateurs and professionals on the same grid. He competed in the GTB1 and J classes, both Porsche categories, across two seasons from 2012 to 2013. He was a developing driver, the entry level of competitive motor racing.[1]
Guinta started ten times across his indexed seasons and took four podiums. In his final year, 2013, he finished 18th in the championship after six rounds and two podiums. His highest-profile finishes came against drivers with considerably more experience; he beat Anthony Geraci, a semi-professional and FIA Bronze-graded driver who would go on to win the 2025 GT4 America Am championship, once in PCA Club Racing, and Joe Catania, another semi-professional with twenty PCA starts, once. Against Geraci across their meetings, however, he typically finished behind.[2]
Guinta raced regularly against Bryn Owen, a fellow developing driver, and finished ahead of him consistently. In a multiclass field ranging from club racers to graded professionals, Guinta was mid-pack among his regular opponents, outpacing some developing entrants while running behind the semi-professional regulars he encountered most often.
