Joe Catania is a retired amateur racing driver with a single season of competition on record. In 2016, he made four starts across the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama and Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge series, competing for NGT Motorsport. He did not score a win or podium finish, recording an average result of 13th place across his classified starts.[1]
Catania raced against a field populated by FIA-graded professionals and former champions. In shared competition, he finished ahead of Jesse Lazare, a Silver-graded professional and champion, on one occasion; he also beat Zacharie Robichon, similarly graded and a former champion, and Jeff Mosing, a Bronze-graded champion driver. Against the bulk of his regular rivals, however, Catania struggled to repeat that success, finishing behind them in the majority of shared races. Most notably, he did not finish ahead of McKay Snow in any of their four meetings.
Catania's brief racing career ended after the 2016 season and he has not competed since.
