🏳️ Joe Catania

Joe Catania was a semi-professional driver racing in national-level multiclass GT and club championships in Porsche machinery. Between 2011 and 2016 he contested PCA Club Racing across six seasons, then made a brief move to the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge series in 2016 with NGT Motorsport. His career comprised 24 starts and 3 podiums.[1]

Through his PCA Club Racing seasons Catania was a regular in the field but typically finished behind established competitors; he raced most often against Lucas Catania, an entry-level professional, and David Baker, another semi-professional, and usually trailed both. His strongest finishes came against drivers who raced at higher levels. He finished ahead of Fred Poordad, an established professional with experience in international endurance racing through the Asian Le Mans Series, WEC and European Le Mans Series. He also beat Zacharie Robichon, who won the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech GTD championship and has campaigned extensively in IMSA and WEC competition.[2]
