John Goetz is an entry-level professional competing in Porsche Club Racing, a national multiclass amateur and professional championship. He races Porsches across the GT2R, GTA4 and GTC3 classes in a field that mixes amateurs with graded professionals. Since 2021 he has also competed in Porsche Carrera Cup NA, driving the 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in the Am, Masters and Pro-Am classes for Wright Motorsports, an established team that fielded three entries in the series this season.[1]

Goetz has won three PCA Club Racing championships, in 2011, 2013 and most recently 2025, and holds 26 wins across 116 PCA starts alongside three victories in 62 Porsche Carrera Cup NA rounds. He has taken 93 podium finishes over his 20 indexed seasons. In Carrera Cup, where he has raced against stronger fields than PCA alone offers, he sits seventh in the championship standings so far this season across eight rounds run to date, with one podium counted toward the final tally.[2]

His regular competitors in Carrera Cup include Mark Kvamme, an entry-level professional and two-time Carrera Cup Am and Pro-Am champion, against whom Goetz typically finishes behind. He has finished ahead of Dan Clarke, a professional and FIA Silver driver who won the 2022 PCA Club Racing GTC7 title, once across their meetings, and ahead of Efrin Castro, a professional who has been PCA and Porsche Carrera Cup champion, three times. Goetz's record places him as a consistent mid-field competitor in a field that regularly includes professional-graded drivers.
