🇺🇸 Ren Messinger

Messinger is an entry-level professional racing in national-level solo sprint competition, primarily in multiclass championships run by SCCA at regional and major events. He races spec Mazda MX-5 Miatas in the SM class and has also competed in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup for McCumbee McAleer Racing. He currently drives for AOA Racing in the Zenith Racing Series, a multiclass endurance championship where he shares a production-based car in the ZR3 class.[1]

Across five seasons from 2022 to 2025, Messinger took six wins and twenty podiums from thirty-six starts. His primary base has been SCCA competition; he won six times and finished on the podium nine times in sixteen SCCA Regionals starts between 2022 and 2025, and added three more podiums from five SCCA Majors appearances in 2023 and 2024. In 2025 he entered the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup, a national single-class championship, and took one podium from six starts. This season in the Zenith Racing Series he has been consistently competitive, with seven podiums from nine rounds raced so far and currently sits second in the championship standings.[2]

Messinger races regularly against competitive amateurs, holding closely matched records against opponents like Evan Jacobs and Clement Lee who have extensive SCCA and national series experience. He has finished ahead of Westin Workman, an FIA Silver professional and back-to-back champion of two major national series, four times across their meetings. Most notably, he has beaten Jared Thomas once; Thomas is an FIA Silver professional and the three-time defending Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup champion with ninety-six starts in that series alone.
