🏳️ Barry Zurbuchen

Barry Zurbuchen is a competitive amateur racing in national solo sprint championships in the United States. He drives spec BMW E30 and E46 3-series cars, primarily for the BMW E30 team in NASA competition, where he has been a regular since 2016.[1]

Zurbuchen took the 2022 NASA championship in the Spec E30 class. Across his 113 NASA starts he has recorded 20 wins and 52 podiums, establishing himself as one of the series' consistent frontrunners in his classes. He has also raced in BMW CCA Club Racing and, since 2026, competes in the Zenith Racing Series, an endurance championship where he shares a production-based car with co-drivers. In his opening six rounds of the Zenith season, still in progress, he has taken three wins and four podiums and currently sits third in the championship standings.[2]

In the national multiclass fields Zurbuchen regularly encounters, he typically finishes ahead of fellow developing drivers such as Walter Araya and Scott Gress, both of whom are long-time NASA regulars. He has finished ahead of professional-graded drivers including Dan Goldburg, who races IMSA WeatherTech and prototype series, and Eric Powell, a Bronze-graded driver with GT4 America and IMSA experience, though these victories have come sparingly across his career.
