Araya was a regular in NASA's performance touring grid for a decade, typically finishing mid-pack among his peers. He finished ahead of Scott Gress, a developing-level competitor he raced frequently, and once beat Dan Goldburg, a professional with credentials in IMSA WeatherTech competition, and Preston Pardus, an entry-level professional and three-time SCCA Runoffs champion. His record against Barry Zurbuchen, a semi-professional who won the 2026 Zenith Racing Series ZR3 championship, shows him consistently finishing second to a stronger competitor.[2]
