Leo Overgaag is a club-level driver who raced in NASA, a multiclass national championship run in the United States where amateurs and semi-professionals compete in the same races across 15 classes. Overgaag drove a Ford Mustang V8 pony car in the American Iron class and recorded 19 starts between 2014 and 2019.[1]
He took three wins and eight podiums across his career. He won once more in 2019, his final season, which yielded a single additional podium from three rounds raced. His most consistent opposition came from Ryan Walton and Rob Capetz, both club-level regulars in NASA; the three drivers were closely matched throughout their head-to-head racing. Overgaag finished ahead of Brad Payne, a semi-professional with seven NASA starts, on seven occasions. He also beat Michael LaPaglia, a semi-professional who had raced in Trans-Am and NASA, once.[2]
