Lewis Tanner is a retired American stock car driver who raced in a national multiclass endurance series. His indexed career consists of four starts in the NASA CMC class, which runs modified American pony cars, during the 2006 season. He finished 40th in the championship standings.[1]
Tanner's record in NASA placed him in a developing amateur field that included club-level racers with far deeper experience. He finished behind competitive amateur Corey Rueth, a regular opponent with 63 NASA starts across his career, but was closely matched with Scott Smith, a club-level driver who went on to win the 2026 World Racing League GP1 National championship; Tanner beat Smith once in their meetings. He also beat Michael Mosty, who has since accumulated 282 NASA starts.[2]
