Scott Smith is a club-level driver racing primarily in NASA multiclass championships across two decades. His main machinery in NASA comprises American pony cars with limited modifications in the CMC class, German sports cars mostly BMWs and Porsches in GTS3, and spec BMW E30s in Spec E30; he also races for El Diablo Motorsports in the World Racing League, where he currently leads the championship standings through eight rounds of the 2026 season.[1]

Smith's record spans 179 starts from 2005 to the present, yielding 21 wins and 61 podiums. His longest tenure is in NASA, where 132 starts over two decades have produced 12 wins and 33 podiums; he won the SCCA Regionals championship in 2022 after taking 6 wins from 33 starts there, and claimed the NASA title in 2023. His current campaign in the World Racing League has brought 1 win and 5 podiums so far. He also raced European endurance championships; in 2018 and 2019 he competed in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in a BMW one-make cup car, and started the Nürburgring 24 Hours once in 2019.[2]

Smith typically finishes ahead of regular opponents in his classes, including semi-professional and developing drivers with substantial national racing experience. His wins include one against Kyle Kaiser, a professional driver and 2017 Indy NXT champion with six IndyCar starts, and three against Dean Thompson, who has competed in NASCAR Truck, NASCAR Xfinity and the ARCA Menards Series. His performance in the 2026 World Racing League season has placed him atop the points standings with eight rounds still to run.
