Mathias Baar is a competitive amateur racing in national multiclass endurance championships at the Nürburgring. He drives for SRS Team Sorg Rennsport in rear-wheel-drive turbocharged production cars, competing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and the Nürburgring 24 Hours since 2023.[1]
His record spans four seasons and eleven starts. He has taken four podiums, including a win in the 2024 Nürburgring 24 Hours. In the Langstrecken-Serie, which is the longer domestic campaign, he has two podiums from eight starts. He has finished on the podium in two of his three appearances in the 24 Hours itself.[2]
The grids he races regularly include Daniel Zils and Philipp Leisen, both entry-level professionals and multiple champions of the Langstrecken-Serie VT2 classes over the past decade; Baar typically finishes behind both. He has on occasion beaten drivers who race at a significantly higher level. Andy Priaulx, a three-time World Touring Car Championship winner with a professional career spanning international series, finished behind Baar once. Benjamin Barker, a professional with World Endurance Championship and IMSA experience, was beaten once.
