Max Grau is a club-level driver who competed in national solo racing across two SCCA championships. He raced Mazda-powered Formula Enterprises and small-bore production-based tuner cars in SCCA Majors between 2021 and 2022, and contested SCCA Runoffs in the FE2 class in 2020 and 2021, retiring after the latter season.[1]
Over ten starts across both series, Grau took one win and six podiums. His best result came in SCCA Majors, where he won once and finished on the podium four times across two seasons in either FE2 or STL machinery. He scored two podiums at SCCA Runoffs in his two starts there.[2]
Grau raced regularly against Jason Pribyl, a competitive amateur with a broader career in SCCA and open-wheel racing, and Scott Rettich, a semi-professional who has contested Star Mazda Championship and the same SCCA platforms. The two drivers were closely matched in head-to-head competition. In single instances, Grau finished ahead of Jake Walker, a professional and 2025 IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge GTDX champion with significant experience in IMSA WeatherTech and Lamborghini Super Trofeo, and ahead of Sabre Cook, an entry-level professional with a W Series background.
