Michael Amy is a club-level racing driver with a Racer Rating of 1,221, placing him in the developing category; this represents the entry level of organised motorsport, typical of drivers with limited race experience competing in regional and club fields. Across three seasons from 2021 to 2023, Amy made four starts in SCCA competition, collecting two podium finishes but no wins. His average finishing position of 7.8 reflects occasional competitive performances within a narrow sample of races.[1]
Amy's results show a pattern of being outpaced by semi-professional rivals in the fields he entered. Against his most frequent competitors, Jeffrey Lehner and David Dickerson, both rated in the 2,200–2,500 range and considerably stronger drivers, Amy compiled losing head-to-head records of 1–2 against each. He achieved a 2–1 advantage only against Wade White, a much less experienced driver rated at 523. His single victories over higher-calibre drivers, including a 2022 SCCA Regionals SRF3 champion in Sam Schechter, were isolated results rather than signs of sustained competitiveness at that level. His racing activity ended in 2023 at the SCCA Regionals level.
